Kiwi voters are the ones to truly blame for the current state of our nation.
Commentators have been vocal: the number one motivating factor this election is that voters want this current government gone. Kiwis often talk about wanting change, but when the rubber hits the road, and it comes to delivering it, we seem to falter. This election presents a golden opportunity for us to dramatically reshape our governance, but it's becoming increasingly clear that many Kiwis lack the courage to follow through on their aspirations.
We’ve just endured a season with Labour having absolute power, yet it’s increasingly likely Kiwis will deliver us another government with absolute power, this time National. Same cat, different coloured hat.
Let's face it; we Kiwis are known for being docile. We're the most laid-back creatures you'll ever meet. But this passivity has allowed our electoral system, MMP, to become a shadow of its intended purpose. Instead of fostering a diverse Parliament, too many voters are still stuck in the First Past the Post mindset – simply choosing between red or blue.
Our mainstream media and Electoral Commission are complicit as well. They frequently reinforce this either-or mentality, marginalizing other parties and delivering unequal coverage. It's time to level the playing field.
The predictability of the NZ voter is what manipulative power-hungry politicians and their parties rely on.
MSM have all but gift-wrapped Winston Peters another run at office by giving him unprecedented media coverage, all because he’s been in Parliament before. He’s a tired old politician who is a master manipulator of the system, who does not genuinely care about the people. Winston’s drive for power and his craving for the baubles of office consume this master manipulator. He has proven time and time again he makes decisions based on Winston First, not New Zealand First. This election he has already stated he seeks revenge on the Labour Party for how they treated him. And MSM fail to ask Winston the hard questions. See how the media favour the status quo and the old regime of politics.
New parties like Freedoms New Zealand are shut out of debates, denied fair representation by the mainstream media, and blocked from television advertising. The government, MSM, and Electoral Commission all protect the status quo and manipulate voters into believing they must vote for either Labour or National. Our political system is bias.
That's why Freedoms NZ has had to use unconventional tactics, like the Man on the Fence, to shake up the system and break through the media's exclusive focus on specific political parties.
The terms "major" and "minor" parties should be abolished. In a fair and democratic New Zealand, each election every party should be treated equally, regardless of their size or influence. The Broadcasting Allocation, too, needs a complete overhaul. It shouldn't be tethered to the past or with decisions based on ethnicity (like when they admitted in our court case that they gave Te Pāti Māori more funding because they are Māori); everyone should get an equal share.
We've endured the yo-yo effect of Labour and National for over 88 years, and what has it brought us? A directionless, visionless country struggling with chaos in crucial areas. It's time to break free from this cycle.
Our democracy is crying out for reform, and it's going to take voters with the courage to deliver, no matter the challenges.
It's Time to Break the Cycle. Kiwis Must Not Only Demand, But Make Real Change Happen.
The power rests within the hands of the voters! Could this be the election that Kiwi Voters surprise us all?
There must be a Ballot Box Revolution.
It’s now or never!
If not now, when?
If not you, then who?
Must our children and grandchildren bear the burden of bringing about real change?
Party Vote Freedoms New Zealand to see fresh politics and change-makers enter our Parliament.
